PAPRI has qualified scientists with other administrative and supporting staff. The minimum qualification for a scientist is M.Sc.

However, there are M. Phil's and PhD's also among the staff. The new recruits get a chance to receive initial training orientation in JK Paper Mills, which is located next door to the institute.

This is a unique advantage available to very few research institutes as it gives the scientists hands-on experience and familiarity with pulp and paper mill processes.
